webOS is one operating system that gets revived time and again. LG has confirmed that they’ve bought the webOS from HP for use in their next generation Smart TVs. Although HP will remain owners of Palm’s cloud computing assets and will continue supporting Palm users, LG will get their hands on the source code, documentation, engineering talent as well as IPs related to the OS. LG will also be responsible for open source Open webOS and Enyo.

It will be interesting to see how LG will integrate the webOS into the Smart TVs and possibly other devices as well.
